Why do fish need oxygen?

In addition to supplying oxygen to fish, it is mainly to provide sufficient oxygen to the nitrifying bacteria cultured in the filter material, which is beneficial to the conversion of ammonia nitrogen and nitrite toxic substances by nitrifying bacteria. Accelerate the flow of water, avoid local water flow rate is too slow or the dead water area is prone to a large number of bacteria, and the fish is more susceptible to external parasite infection when the water flow rate is slow.
